Vinay is a Managing Director responsible for establishing and growing UpMetrics' partners in Chicago and throughout the Midwest Region. Vinay has 20 + years of social sector experience with particular experience in the areas of urban education, youth development, afterschool programming, and workforce development. He is a regular presenter at local and national convenings, where he is passionate about sharing data best practices and opportunities to use data to amplify program impact, inform decision-making to effectively track toward goals, and enhance social emotional learning opportunities and after school programming. Today, Vinay is excited about how data can help nonprofits design programs, fundraise more efficiently, and ultimately drive positive change all through a lens of equity and inclusion.

Vinay began his career as an industrial engineer at Intel Corporation. After his time at Intel, Vinay was drawn to teaching because of his belief that all children should have access to quality education and meaningful extracurricular activities. Vinay spent over 12 years in the Chicago Public Schools, first as a Teach for America corps member teaching high school math and business education, and then as the Director of Athletics & Activities for the Perspectives Charter Schools Network. During this time, Vinay became aware of the opportunity for data to bring people together to solve complex problems across the social sector. Vinay was named Division One Athletic Director of the Year by the Illinois Athletic Directors Association in 2013.

Vinay graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BS in Industrial Engineering. He also has attained his MA in Secondary Education and an MA in School Counseling. He serves on a number of boards and volunteers with a variety of local non-profits and is an enthusiastic coach for his kids' baseball, softball, and basketball teams.
